How to Get a 100-Point Legendary Answer
One Legendary answer earns 100 points. If you’re chasing Ball Knowledge legendary answers, focus on an unusual answer that fits the exact question. With seven rounds deciding the winner, those points can make a big difference.
Ball Knowledge gives everyone at the table the same prompt, then reveals answers with rarity ratings ranging from Common to Legendary. Common answers earn fewer points; rarer answers earn more.
For the prompt “Name a pet,” these examples show the difference:
| Answer | Points |
|---|---|
| Dog | 10 |
| Fennec Fox | 90 |
Fennec Fox earns substantially more than Dog, but its 90 points still fall below the Legendary score. Keep that distinction in mind when looking for high-scoring answers: an unusual choice and a 100-point result aren’t interchangeable.
There’s no speed bonus, so use your thinking time. Before submitting, check both parts of your answer: does it fit the category, and can you think of something less obvious?

Read the Category Before Choosing Something Obscure
A clever answer won’t help if it answers a different question. Pay attention to words such as type, model, species, and title.

Art or craft: name the activity
For “Name a type of art or craft,” choose something such as painting or carving. Mona Lisa names a particular artwork, which misses the requested category.
Use that distinction whenever a prompt asks for a type of something: name the category member rather than a famous example associated with it.
Car models: go beyond the manufacturer
The car question specifically asks for a model, rather than just a brand. Recall the complete model name before locking in your answer.
Don’t let the search for something obscure distract you from that requirement.
Perfect squares: check the math
A perfect square comes from multiplying a whole number by itself. Four fits because two times two equals four; 95 doesn’t.
Read any numerical limits in the question before choosing your number. An unusual number still needs to satisfy the prompt.
Movie questions: use the movie title
For a Disney movie question, use Tangled when you’re thinking of Rapunzel. Naming the actual movie keeps your answer aligned with the question.
Small spelling mistakes are allowed, but aim for the clearest name you can remember.
Build a Category Answer Bank
Ball Knowledge has 135+ questions, covering subjects including animals, food, countries, sports, science, music, and video games. Prepare across several categories so one unfamiliar topic doesn’t derail your match.
Start with concrete examples from the game’s prompts:
- Musical instrument: Cello.
- Cooking or food preparation tool: Peeler.
- Tree species or group: Maple.
- Type of cheese: Mozzarella.
- Chemical element: Zinc.
- Something found at the beach: Sand castle.
Use these as practice vocabulary. Don’t assign them a Legendary rating simply because they’re more specific than your first thought.
For each category, practice recalling another valid answer after the obvious one. Keep the wording precise: a named tree fits a tree question more directly than “wood,” while a particular utensil fits a cooking-tool question.
Practice Without Rushing Your Submission
Sit at a practice table and play against the Noob to work on reading prompts and recalling answers. Then move into a duel or a table for three, four, or eight players.
During each round:
- Read the entire prompt, including examples and restrictions.
- Think of an answer that clearly belongs.
- Use the remaining thinking time to consider a less obvious alternative.
- Submit one answer.
- Watch the reveal and remember its rarity and score.
Keep track of useful answers alongside their exact prompts. That gives you something concrete to recall when the same category returns—and helps you distinguish a dependable answer from one that actually earns 100 points.
