How Do You Unlock Answer Effects?

Your next trivia match can help pay for an answer effect. Ball Knowledge answer effects unlock with coins earned from matches, the same currency used for chairs and thrones. Keep playing to earn coins while working on your answers.

In play Ball Knowledge on Roblox, you earn coins every match. Winning is the competitive goal, but match participation also moves you toward those unlocks.

Answer effects, chairs, and thrones all give you something to spend your coins on. If an effect is your next goal, save toward it before buying another seat.

Earn Coins While Learning the Questions

To start a match, walk up to a table, sit down, and submit one answer to each question. Everyone receives the same prompt, and answers are revealed together. The highest total score after seven rounds wins.

You can play at 1v1, three-player, four-player, or eight-player tables. For practice, sit at a practice table against the Noob.

The scoring rewards unusual answers. For the pet question, Dog earns 10 points, while Fennec Fox earns 90. Legendary answers are worth 100 points.

Use those rules to sharpen your play while earning coins:

  • Take time to think. There is no speed bonus, so rushing an obvious answer offers no scoring advantage.
  • Match the category precisely. A prompt asking for a type of art calls for something like painting or carving, rather than the name of a painting.
  • Think beyond your first answer. Recall another valid example before submitting.
  • Keep spelling recognizable. Small spelling mistakes are accepted, but aim for the correct name.

The game has more than 135 questions covering subjects including animals, food, science, sports, music, and video games, so broadening your knowledge gives you more options at the table.

Read the extra wording beneath a question before choosing your answer. The car question asks for a specific model rather than just a brand. The tree question calls for real species or groups, while the bird question asks for a real bird. Follow those boundaries when reaching for a less obvious response; an unusual word still needs to fit the actual question.

Some prompts give you several kinds of answers to consider. The beach question includes natural things, animals, beach items, and activities. The food preparation question accepts kitchen tools, utensils, and appliances. Use those different groups to jog your memory instead of getting stuck on the first object that comes to mind.

Other rounds test narrower knowledge: naming a chemical element, a pasta shape, a type of cheese, a card game, or a musical instrument. The game also asks for Disney movies and Harry Potter characters. Practice switching between these subjects at the Noob tables before joining another competitive match.

There are separate leaderboards for Top Wins, Top Streaks, and Best Score. Choose one of those goals to pursue alongside your cosmetic purchases. You can also claim a free daily reward when you return to play.

Coin Passes and Their Prices

Two passes increase the coins you receive from matches:

PassPriceMatch coin benefitOther benefits
2x Coins149 RobuxDouble coins from every match; stacks with VIP—
VIP199 Robux1.5x coins from every matchVIP tag and golden nameplate

You can earn coins through matches without buying either pass. If you decide to spend Robux specifically to work toward an effect, compare the coin benefits above before purchasing. The 2x Coins pass costs less than VIP and provides the larger individual match coin multiplier; VIP also includes nameplate and tag benefits.

Rainbow Name is a separate 99 Robux purchase that makes the name above your head display rainbow colors. Change Category costs 249 Robux. Keep those purchases distinct from the two match coin passes when planning your spending: the coin multipliers belong to 2x Coins and VIP, while Rainbow Name changes your name’s appearance.
